President & Vice President Installed

    The Service of Installation of the President and Vice President of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod was held on August 5, 2026 in Trinity Chapel on the campus of Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minnesota.

    Thirty-two ELS pastors joined the new president and vice president in the service of installation.
    Rev. Andrew Soule directed the choir of pastors. John Baumann served as accompanist for the choir, as well as organist for the service.
    Rev. Dr. Michael K. Smith was installed as ELS President.
    The installation service was in Trinity Chapel on the campus of Bethany Lutheran College.
    Rev. Kyle Madson, ELS Secretary, preached for the installation service.
    Rev. Peter Faugstad was installed as ELS Vice President.
