Colloquy
On July 1, 2024 the ELS Colloquy Committee met with the Rev. Burgess Huehn. He is currently a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Eau Claire, Wisconsin (ELS). He has served as pastor in the WELS, ELS and the CLC. He has been retired since 2011. Rev. Huehn would like the ability to help with preaching not only in his home congregation as requested by his pastor, but perhaps other churches in our fellowship. In order to do this in other congregations within our fellowship he needs to be on the ELS Clergy Roster. Based on our discussions with Rev. Huehn, it was determined that he is in agreement with the teachings and practices of the ELS. During our conversations we also discussed such things as his professional attitudes and ethics and his previous congregational experience. Therefore, the Colloquy Committee passed the following: “RESOLVED, that the Rev. Burgess Huehn be encouraged to continue with the rest of the colloquy.” This serves as a public notice that Rev. Burgess Huehn has applied for membership on the ELS Clergy Roster and has entered the colloquy process. Part II of the colloquy is scheduled for Aug. 16, 2024.
