This girl enjoyed lunch at a Christian school in the Peruvian rainforest. Though the government provides meals for students enrolled in public schools, not so for those receiving mission-supported Christian education. Therefore, Cross-stitch, the network of Women’s Mission Societies of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod, gathers funds for nutrition and helps provide meals for children in the jungle. Women’s Rallies are held each fall to gather support.
We American Christians have so much! Sometimes God cares for the poor through the generosity of people like us. Responding to God’s love, his people support Gospel outreach work which proclaims God’s grace in Christ Jesus our Savior, and provides needed sustenance for children in mission fields. “We love because he first loved us (I John 4).”
