Who built this church in the Upper Amazon Basin of Peru? Local workers constructed the building, but the cost of material and labor was provided by generous American Christians. “The Most High does not live in houses made by human hands (Acts 7).” So why build churches? In our churches the Gospel is preached, the Good News that Christ’s life, death and resurrection won salvation for sinners. The Holy Spirit creates Christian faith when that Gospel is proclaimed, and the gift of salvation is received by all who believe - even those who live in the jungle!
