Please keep members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS, Mormons) and their missionaries and those they evangelize in your prayers. At the end of 2011 the LDS church had 55,000 missionaries. At the end of 2012 they had 58,000. It was announced at their General Conference a week ago that they now have 65,800 missionaries with 20,000 more who have received mission calls and will be added to their ranks during the next three months. Additional thousands have submitted their paper work requesting mission calls. The LDS church now anticipates 90,000 full-time missionaries to be in the field by the end of 2013. With that number, based on previous experience, they should have about 400,000 converts to the LDS church in 2014.
In Provo, Utah, their Missionary Training Center used to train 2,500 missionaries at a time. They now train 9,000 missionaries at a time, and also have other missionary training centers in Mexico City and around the world to bring the Mormon gospel to our people. The Mormon gospel teaches that there is more than one God, that God became God, that Jesus is a God, that you and I (and other males) can become Gods, and that our goddess wives can look forward to procreating billions of offspring to populate our own planet. None of these teachings, by the way, are in the Book of Mormon
By the end of the century there could be 100 million Mormons world-wide, with a missionary force of 300,000. Seventy-five percent of their converts are from Christian churches. Please pray that we may find it in our hearts to reach out to them with the true Gospel.
