India Diary – Part 1

We arrived in Rajahmundry about Noon after 38 continuous hours of travel, 4 flights, 5 hours of sleep, a crazy taxi ride through Mumbai at Midnight and a spicy chicken pizza for breakfast.  We met up with Pastors Solomon Mamidi and Pradeep Lingala at the Hyderabad airport before our final flight and they continued on with us to Rajahmundry. After collecting all our bags, we received a warm welcome from Pastors Ananda and Kalyan Gollapalli and the directors of the Rajahmundry district of the Lutheran Mission of Salvation- India. The greeting included garlands of fresh flowers for the visitors.

After a quick shower, meal, and a one-hour nap, we waited for the leaders of the Rajahmundry district to arrive for an evening meeting. As the sun set, we heard the Muslim call to prayer drift in our hotel window from a nearby mosque.  After a short meeting the directors, we shared a delicious supper together. We are looking forward to a longer sleep tonight and a VERY exciting day tomorrow, with ordinations and a church dedication.  Watch for the wonderful news of God’s blessings!
