Heavenly Father, on this day as our nation pauses to consider the importance of love and respect to be shown toward all people of all races and backgrounds, we ask You to continue to pour out Your merciful blessings and guidance upon our country. Help us see the value You place on every single soul, though none of us – sinners that we are – deserve Your kindness. Most of all, have us – no matter the color of our skin or ethnic heritage – see that through Your only-begotten Son, You have granted us free forgiveness of all our sins and the blessed hope of life everlasting by faith in Jesus’ name. It is only in and through His name that we ask this and all our prayers. Amen.
