Help for Shalem – Update 2

Update on Shalem – Liver Transplant

Following is the latest information we have regarding our young brother in the faith, Shalem, and his urgent need for a liver transplant:

  • $39,700 is needed for the transplant surgeries (Shalem and the donor)
  • $10,000 will likely be needed for anti-rejection medicine following the surgery
  • $12,000 has been raised in India.
  • $11,000 has been sent to India from ELS members

We extend thanks to all who have contributed and again urge ELS pastors to share the information with their congregations.

The family’s pastor, Rev. Solomon Mamidi of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hyderabad sent the following Wednesday morning:
Shalem may admit in the hospital on 9th August 2013. The donor plans are changing now. The mother came forward to donate her liver for her son because if father on the bed for three months, it will be a problem for them to get their daily bread. Still we need to wait whose liver will be suitable for Shalem.

Thanks,

Solomon
