A Home Missionary’s Musings: The Holy Spirit & Sharing Jesus (Abe Faugstad) Does the idea of talking to someone about Jesus make you excited or fearful? What does Scripture teach us about evangelism?
Petrified (Ben Faugstad) How God’s Word and hymns can help alleviate our fears.
Different Doesn’t Have To Be Different (Daniel Hartwig) As Christians, we are “in the world” but not “of the world.” Yet we are also called to “be all things to all people.” So how do we live as authentically Christian people in this un-Christian world while still trying to reach out to and be a part of this same world? How can we be Christians without being total weirdos? Let’s study God’s Word together to find out!
From Egypt to the Promised Land: Your Life in Christ (Sam Gullixson) The history of the children of Israel’s trip from Egypt to the Promised Land is filled with examples of struggles, worries, complaints, and faithlessness. Does this remind you of anyone? It is also filled with God’s mercy, steadfast love, and faithfulness. How does this all apply to you?
Don’t All Paths Lead to God? (Matt Moldstad) Out of all of the religions in the world how can we possibly say that Christianity is correct and all others are wrong? How do we respond when people accuse us of arrogance in saying that Jesus is the only way?
A Good Man Is Hard to Find: How to Be and See a Man of God in Any Age (Jacob Kempfert) ince our culture can’t even define what a man is, it’s harder than ever for young men and young women to find godly examples of authentic masculinity. So we won’t look to our culture, but to the perfect Man, Christ Jesus—and since we can’t be perfect men, we’ll also learn from an often overlooked true man of God in Scripture.
The Aim & End of Man: Wisdom for Men (Jeff Hendrix) Proverbs is the Wisdom of God to the World, the Wisdom of a Father to his son, the Wisdom of a King to his subjects. This is a study for men (although not necessarily exclusively) on how to be kings and fathers in our own little kingdoms.
Why can you be sure that God will grant you eternal life? (Bernt Tweit) Why can you be sure that God will grant you eternal life? Come and discuss this comforting teaching from God’s Word of God’s gracious choice in eternity of those who are saved.
“Religious Trauma Syndrome (RTS) – Do I Have That?” (Luke Ulrich) Religious trauma syndrome (RTS) is defined as a condition that can occur when someone experiences harmful religious indoctrination, abuse, or negative behavior. It can cause emotional and mental distress. Have you ever felt this way? Do you know others who have this? What is our response as Confessional Lutherans? Where do we find help if we believe we have it? How do we help others who are dealing with it? How should the growing awareness of RTS in our culture and society affect our approach in sharing Christ with others?
