Light for My Path Daily Devotion

Bible Reading

The Lord is my strength and my shield. In him my heart trusts, and I am helped. My heart also celebrates. With my song I will give thanks to him. The Lord is their strength. He is a stronghold of salvation for his anointed king. Save your people, and bless the people that belong to you. Shepherd them, and carry them forever. (Psalm 28:7-9 EHV)

Hymn  ELH 517:1-2  If God Himself Be for Me

If God Himself be for me,
I may a host defy;
For when I pray, before me
My foes, confounded, fly.
If Christ, the Head, befriend me,
If God be my support,
The mischief they intend me
Shall quickly come to naught.

This I believe, yea, rather,
In this I make my boast,
That God is my dear Father,
The Friend who loves me most;
And that, whatever betide me,
My Savior is at hand
Through stormy seas to guide me
And bring me safe to land.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, forgive my sins and strengthen my faith to always believe that nothing can take me from Your love and care. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
