Light for My Path Daily Devotion

Bible Reading

You will say in that day: “I will give thanks to you, O Lord, for though you were angry with me, your anger turned away, that you might comfort me. Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.” (Isaiah 12:1-2 ESV)

Hymn  ELH 160: 1,2,8  O God, Our Help in Ages Past

O God, our Help in ages past,
Our Hope for years to come,
Our Shelter from the stormy blast,
And our eternal Home!

Under the shadow of Thy throne
Thy saints have dwelt secure;
Sufficient is Thine arm alone,
And our defense is sure.

Our God, our Help in ages past,
Our Hope for years to come,
Be Thou our Guard while troubles last
And our eternal Home!

Prayer

Gracious Heavenly Father, I thank you for bringing me through another year. Give me courage to face all trials in the coming year, secure in the knowledge that my salvation is guaranteed by Christ’s saving work. In His Name I pray. Amen.
