Light for My Path Daily Devotion

Bible Reading

The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry. The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to cut off the memory of them from the earth. When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:15-18 ESV)

Hymn  ELH 386:1,4   Lord God, Who Art My Father Dear

Lord God, who art my Father dear,
I pray in Jesus’ name: O hear
What, trusting in His promised Word,
I humbly ask of Thee, good Lord.

Lord, at Thy word, Amen I say;
Increase my feeble faith, I pray.
Thou lead’st me with a Father’s care;
O let me be Thy child and heir!

Prayer

Lord God, thank You for hearing my prayers and answering them according to Your will. Be near me when my spirit is crushed and remind me that You have already fulfilled my greatest need: forgiveness through Your Son, Jesus Christ. In His name I pray. Amen.
