Light for My Path Daily Devotion

Bible Reading

Open to me the gates of righteousness, that I may enter through them and give thanks to the Lord. This is the gate of the Lord; the righteous shall enter through it.  I thank you that you have answered me and have become my salvation. The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.  This is the Lord‘s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.  This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.  (Psalm 118:19-24 ESV)

Hymn  ELH 353:1-2   Jesus Lives! The Victory’s Won

Jesus lives! The victory’s won!
Death no longer can appall me.
Jesus lives! Death’s reign is done!
From the grave He will recall me.
Brighter scenes will then commence;
This shall be my confidence.

Jesus lives! To Him the throne
High o’er heaven and earth is given.
I shall go where He is gone,
Live and reign with Him in heaven.
God through Christ forgives offense;
This shall be my confidence.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, You have made Jesus the cornerstone of my faith.  Grant me strength to always trust in Him alone for my salvation.  In His name I pray.  Amen.
