Light for My Path Daily Devotiondevotions3

Bible Reading

And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. (2 Peter 1:19-21 ESV)

Hymn ELH 231:2,4,5 When Israel Through the Desert Passed

Such is Thy glorious Word, O God!
‘Tis for our light and guidance given;
It sheds its luster all abroad
And points the path to bliss and heaven.

Its promises rejoice our hearts,
Its doctrines are divinely true;
While highest wisdom it imparts,
It comforts and instructs us too.

Ye favored lands that have this Word,
Ye saints who feel its saving power,
Unite your tongues to praise the Lord
And His distinguished grace adore!

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving Your Word, the Bible, to all people. Help me to trust in Your Word as the only light to guide me through the spiritual darkness of this world. Strengthen my faith through Your inspired and inerrant teachings, so I may remain confident that my salvation rests securely in Christ’s work. In His name I pray. Amen.
