Light for My Path Daily Devotion

Bible Reading

He also came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. So then, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of God’s household. (Ephesians 2:17-19 EHV)

Hymn ELH 474:1,4 I’m But a Stranger Here

I’m but a stranger here;
Heav’n is my home.
Earth is a desert drear;
Heav’n is my home.
Danger and sorrow stand
Round me on ev’ry hand.
Heav’n is my fatherland;
Heav’n is my home.

Therefore I murmur not;
Heav’n is my home.
Whate’er my earthly lot;
Heav’n is my home.
And I shall surely stand
There at my Lord’s right hand.
Heav’n is my fatherland;
Heav’n is my home.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for making me a citizen of heaven by grace, through faith in Your Son, Jesus Christ. In His name I pray. Amen.
