Light for My Path Daily Devotion

Bible Reading

In you, Lord, I have taken refuge. Let me never be put to shame. In your righteousness deliver me. Turn your ear toward me. Hurry! Rescue me! Be a rock where I take refuge, a fortified place that saves me. Yes, you are my rocky cliff and my stronghold. For the sake of your name you will lead me and guide me. You will pull me out of the net that they hid for me, because you are my refuge. Into your hand I commit my spirit. You have redeemed me, O Lord, the God of truth. (Psalm 31:1-5 EHV)

Hymn ELH 160:1-2 O God, Our Help in Ages Past

O God, our Help in ages past,
Our Hope for years to come,
Our Shelter from the stormy blast,
And our eternal Home!

Under the shadow of Thy throne
Thy saints have dwelt secure;
Sufficient is Thine arm alone,
And our defense is sure.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, in Your love and mercy, You provide food, clothing, shelter and protection for me each day. Thank You for all that do for me to meet my physical needs. I especially thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, to pay for all my sins. Through Him You provide for my daily spiritual need of forgiveness for my sins. In His name I pray. Amen.
