Light for My Path Daily Devotiondevotions3

Bible Reading

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39 ESV)

Hymn ELH 437:1 In Jesus I Find Rest and Peace

In Jesus I find rest and peace–
The world is full of sorrow;
His wounds are my abiding-place;
Let the unknown tomorrow
Bring what it may, There I can stay,
My faith finds all I need today,
I will not trouble borrow.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, when I am surrounded by fear, remind me, through Your Word, that You are watching over my life. When I hear news of terrible tragedy, comfort me with the knowledge that You are in control of all things. When I see hatred and violence, remind me of Your grace and mercy in sending Your Son, Jesus, to be my Savior. In His name I pray. Amen.
