Light for My Path Daily Devotion

Bible Reading

Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight. I am placing my Spirit on him. He will announce a just verdict for the nations. He will not cry out. He will not raise his voice. He will not make his voice heard in the street. A bent reed he will not break, and a dimly burning wick he will not snuff out. He will faithfully bring forth a just verdict. (Isaiah 42:1-3 EHV)

Hymn   ELH 271: 1,2,4  O Jesus, Lamb of God, Thou Art

O Jesus Lamb of God, Thou art
The Life and Comfort of my heart.
A sinner poor I come to Thee
And bring my many sins with me.

O God, my sin indeed is great;
I groan beneath the dreadful weight.
Be merciful to me, I pray;
Take guilt and punishment away.

Help me to mend my ways, O Lord,
And gladly to obey Thy Word.
While here I live, abide with me;
And when I die, take me to Thee.

Prayer

Jesus, Savior, strengthen me when my faith is weak and help all who struggle with their sins.  Teach me to always trust in You for my forgiveness and my salvation.  Amen.
