Light for My Path Daily Devotiondevotions3

Bible Reading

We all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved. (Ephesians 2:3-5 ESV)

Hymn  ELH 406:1  Lord, Thee I Love with All My Heart

Lord, Thee I love with all my heart;
I pray Thee ne’er from me depart,
With tender mercy cheer me.
Earth has no pleasure I would share,
Yea, heaven itself were void and bare
If Thou, Lord, wert not near me.
And should my heart for sorrow break,
My trust in Thee no one could shake.
Thou art the Portion I have sought;
Thy precious blood my soul has bought.
Lord Jesus Christ,
My God and Lord, my God and Lord,
Forsake me not! I trust Thy Word.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, by the power of the Holy Spirit, You saved me from being a child of wrath and made me Your very own child by grace, through faith in Your Son Jesus Christ. Remind me each day of Your grace and mercy and of the love You have for Your children. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
