Light for My Path Daily Devotion

Bible Reading

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. The one who believes in him is not condemned, but the one who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only-begotten Son of God. (John 3:16-18 EHV)

Hymn ELH 403: 1,4 God Love the World, So that He Gave

God loved the world so that He gave
His only Son the lost to save,
That all who would in Him believe
Should everlasting life receive.

Be of good cheer, for God’s own Son
Forgives the sins that thou hast done;
And, justified by Jesus’ blood,
Thy Baptism grants the highest good.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you for sending Jesus to save the world through His perfect life and His death. Strengthen my faith in Jesus and give others the assurance of forgiveness and salvation which comes only by grace, through faith. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
