Light for My Path Daily Devotion

Bible Reading

I have fought the good fight; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith From now on, there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness. The Lord, the righteous Judge, will give it to me on that day, and not only to me but also to everyone who loved his appearing. (2 Timothy 4:7-8 EHV)

Hymn ELH 253:5,6 Rise, My Soul, to Watch and Pray

But while watching, also pray
To the Lord unceasing.
He will free thee, by thy Stay,
Strength and faith increasing.
O Lord, bless In distress
And let nothing swerve me
From the will to serve Thee.

Therefore let us watch and pray,
Knowing He will hear us
As we see from day to day
Dangers ever near us,
And the end Doth impend–
Our redemption neareth
When the Lord appeareth.

Prayer

O Jesus, Righteous Judge, thank You for winning the race for me by earning my forgiveness through Your perfect life and innocent death. Forgive me my sins and bring me safely to my heavenly home on the day You have chosen. Amen.
