Light for My Path Daily Devotion

Bible Reading

This is what the true God says, the Lord who creates the heavens and stretches them out, who spreads out the earth and everything that it produces, who gives breath to the people on it and life to those who walk on it. I am the Lord. I have called you in righteousness. I will hold on to your hand, and I will guard you. I will appoint you to be a covenant for the people, to be a light for the nations, to open the eyes of the blind, to bring the prisoners out from the dungeon, and to bring those who sit in darkness out of prison. (Isaiah 42:5-7 EHV)

Hymn ELH 165:1-2 Let the Earth Now Praise the Lord

Let the earth now praise the Lord,
Who hath truly kept His word
And the sinners’ Help and Friend
Now at last to us doth send.

What the fathers most desired,
What the prophets’ heart inspired,
What they longed for many a year,
Stands fulfilled in glory here.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for sending my Savior, Jesus, to earn my righteousness for me and to bring me out of the darkness of sin and the dungeon of eternal death. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
