Light for My Path Daily Devotion

Bible Reading

And do this since you understand the present time. It is already the hour for you to wake up from sleep, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is almost over, and the day is drawing near. So let us put away the deeds of darkness and put on the weapons of light. (Romans 13:11-12 EHV)

Hymn ELH 96:1,3 Hark, a thrilling voice is sounding!

Hark, a thrilling voice is sounding!
“Christ is nigh!” we hear it say.
“Cast away the works of darkness;
O ye children of the day!”

Lo, the Lamb, so long-expected,
Comes with pardon down from heaven.
Let us haste, with tears of sorrow,
One and all, to be forgiven.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, give me strength today to leave behind sins that hold me in their grip and to put on the armor of light. Help me always to be prepared in faith for the return of your Son, my Savior, Jesus Christ. In His name I pray. Amen.
