Light for My Path Daily Devotion

Bible Reading

The Lord is my shepherd. I lack nothing. He causes me to lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You set a table for me in the presence of my foes. You drench my head with oil. My cup is overflowing. Surely goodness and mercy will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever. (Psalm 23 EHV)

Hymn  ELH 373:5  The Lord’s My Shepherd, I’ll Not Want

Goodness and mercy, all my life,
Shall surely follow me;
And in God’s house forevermore
My dwelling place shall be.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for caring for all my needs in this life, and especially for Your promise of life to come with You in Heaven. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
