Light for My Path Daily Devotiondevotions3

Bible Reading

Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! (Psalm 133:1 ESV)

Hymn ELH 211:3,7 Built on the Rock

We are God’s house of living stones,
Builded for His habitation;
He through baptismal grace us owns
Heirs of His wondrous salvation;
Were we but two His name to tell,
Yet He would deign with us to dwell
With all His grace and His favor.

Grant then, O God, where’er men roam,
That, when the church bells are ringing,
Many in Jesus’ faith may come
Where Christ His message is bringing:
“I know mine own, mine own know me,
Ye, not the world, my face shall see:
My peace I leave with you, Amen.”

Prayer

Heavenly Father, through Your Word and sacraments, build Your Church and keep her strong. Grant peace within the Church through agreement in teaching and practice based only on Your Holy Word, that the Good News of forgiveness and salvation in Your Son, Jesus Christ may be preached in all the world. In His Name I pray. Amen.
