Light for My Path Daily Devotion

Bible Reading

May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.  He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.  (Colossians 1:11-14 ESV)

Hymn    ELH 231:2-4    When Israel Through the Desert Passed

Such is Thy glorious Word, O God!
‘Tis for our light and guidance given;
It sheds its luster all abroad
And points the path to bliss and heaven.

It fills the soul with sweet delight
The heart with living faith empowers;
It sets our wandering footsteps right,
Displays Thy love, and kindles ours.

Its promises rejoice our hearts,
Its doctrines are divinely true;
While highest wisdom it imparts,
It comforts and instructs us too.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving to me the inheritance promised to all who believe in Your Son as their only Savior and for delivering me from sin and death.  In Jesus’ name I pray.  Amen.
