Light for My Path Daily Devotion

Bible Reading

The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. (Psalm 103:8 ESV)

Hymn  ELH 433:1,3 Not What These Hands Have Done

Not what these hands have done
Can save this guilty soul;
Not what this toiling flesh has borne
Can make my spirit whole.
Not what I feel or do
Can give me peace with God;
Not all my prayers and sighs and tears
Can bear my awful load.

Thy grace alone, O God,
To me can pardon speak;
Thy power alone, O Son of God,
Can this sore bondage break.
I bless the Christ of God,
I rest on love divine,
By God’s free gift of saving faith
I call this Savior mine.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, in Your love and mercy, You sent Your Son to save me and all people. In Your mercy and grace, lead all to hear Your Word and come to faith in Jesus as their only Savior from sin, death and devil. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
