Light for My Path Daily Devotion

Bible Reading

[Jesus said] “Or what woman who has ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, would not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it? And when she finds it, she calls together her friends and neighbors and says, ‘Rejoice with me, because I have found the lost coin.’ In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” (Luke 15:8-10 EHV)

Hymn ELH 545:1,11 Lord God, We All to Thee Give Praise

Lord God, we all to Thee give praise,
Thank offerings meet to Thee we raise
That Thou didst angel hosts create
Around Thy glorious throne to wait.

They joy when but one sinner turns;
Their zeal for Jesus ever burns;
They serve His people day and night
To bring us to the realms of light.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, as Your angels rejoice over the sinner who repents, help me also to be joyful when there is repentance in someone who has sinned against me. In the name of Jesus, who died to forgive all sins, I pray. Amen.
