Light for My Path Daily Devotion

Bible Reading

And I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels who were around the throne and around the living creatures and the elders. Their number was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands upon thousands. With a loud voice they were saying: Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing. I also heard every creature that is in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever. (Revelation 5:11-13 EHV)

Hymn  ELH 376:2-4  Rejoice, the Lord is King

Jesus, the Savior, reigns,
The God of truth and love;
When He had purged our stains,
He took His seat above:
Lift up your heart, lift up your voice;
Rejoice; again I say, Rejoice!

His kingdom cannot fail;
He rules o’er earth and heaven;
The keys of death and hell
Are to our Jesus given:
Lift up your heart, lift up your voice;
Rejoice; again I say, Rejoice!

He sits at God’s right hand
Till all his foes submit
And bow to His command
And fall beneath His feet:
Lift up your heart, lift up your voice;
Rejoice; again I say, Rejoice!

Prayer

Jesus, Lamb of God, thank You for giving Your life in my place to pay for all of my sins. Lift up my heart in joy each day, leading me to trust in You alone  for my salvation. Amen.
