Light for My Path Daily Devotion

Bible Reading

Therefore, since we have a great high priest, who has gone through the heavens, namely, Jesus the Son of God, let us continue to hold on to our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are, yet was without sin. So let us approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:14-16 EHV)

Hymn   ELH 270:1  Hail, Thou Once-Despised Jesus

Hail, Thou once despised Jesus!
Hail, Thou Galilean King!
Thou didst suffere to release us,
Thou didst free salvation bring.
Hail, Thou universal Savior,
Who hast borne our sin and shame;
By whose merits we find favor;
Life is given through Thy name.

Prayer

Jesus, my Savior, You understand my temptations and my struggles, because You were tempted like me.  Help me to overcome temptations to sin and strengthen my faith in You.  Amen.
