What Do You Wish to Do? Give a simple summary statement for your project.

Examples: fund a community-oriented VBS, send a mass-mailing, start a podcast, or start a new outreach oriented toward veterans

What is the anticipated duration of the project?

Is it a one-time event, a week- or months-long effort, or a jump-start for what you hope will be a permanent program?

Who are you trying to reach?

What is the size of that demographic? To what end are you trying to reach them? Is there an interest or need in that group for what you propose?

Give specific details for how you will promote or advertise your project.

What is the anticipated total cost? (numbers only)

What is the cost the congregation will cover? (numbers only) (Tip: the BHO appreciates seeing that the congregation has some "skin in the game.")

What is the amount you are requesting in support from the Board for Home Outreach? (numbers only)

What are the benchmarks you identify for success?

Be specific. How will you engage with the souls you have identified through your project once it has been established or completed? Who will follow up with them, when, and how often?

Who will oversee the project?

Is there a committee in place? Is there a chairman? Who will appoint these individuals, or how will you identify them?

How many members comprise your congregation, and of those members, how many will be involved?

On average, how many attend services on a weekend?

How many members are involved in this project?

What duties will they have? (General duties are sufficient i.e. greeter, activity director, etc.)

Is the main contact person (listed above) in charge of this project?

Share any additional information you would like the Board to consider in deliberating the funding of your project.

Should the Board fund your project, please be prepared to submit a brief written report to answer the following questions.

A. Reiterate your hopes and evaluate the project: Did it accomplish your goals?

B. What efforts are being undertaken to follow up with the souls you engaged?

C. Do you hope to continue the project, or repeat it in the future?
